Today Daniel Kelly is launching his campaign to serve again on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, saying nothing less than the rule of law is at stake.

Voters will decide in April 2023 who should fill the seat of retiring Justice Patience Roggensack. Kelly, who previously served on the Court from 2016-2020, will bring his love of the law, the Constitution, and the people of Wisconsin to the state’s high court once again.
“I am incredibly grateful to those all over the state who have encouraged me to run. They know the importance of electing a justice with a track record of protecting our Constitution, faithfully applying the law as written, and respecting the people of Wisconsin as his bosses.”
“During my first term on the court, I faithfully carried out the humble role our Constitution assigns to the judiciary: resolving Wisconsinites’ disputes according to the law with neither fear nor favor for any party or position.”

Kelly warned of the stakes for this pivotal seat on the seven-member court: “ If an activist were to win next April, Wisconsin’s public policy would be imposed by four lawyers sitting in Madison instead of being adopted through our constitutional processes.  I won’t let that happen on my watch.”
Kelly reviewed more than 3,000 cases as a justice and authored scores of published opinions. He previously spent twenty years in private practice, including as a partner at a respected Milwaukee law firm and as general counsel to a local foundation.  He is a graduate of Carroll College (now University) and Regent University Law School. He and his college sweetheart Elisa have been married more than thirty years. Parents of five children, they live in Waukesha County.
